It seems as though the 90s trends are here to stay a little while longer (ahem, overalls). Though I’ll be the last person to rock a crop top and tattered jeans, I do love bright friendship bracelets. The trend made a huge comeback last summer and the arm party was born. Embellished friendship bracelets add a touch of glam to any look. You can add studs along the center for a bit of punk rock. Or, weave some chain or rhinestones along the outer edges! I’ll definitely be DIYing these soon!
Toasted Marshmallow & Nutella Milkshake
08.13.13Last summer before our trip to Europe, I visited my sister in Georgia. One night, she took me out to dinner at Flip Burger. Besides having one of the most delicious burgers I’ve ever eaten, they had Toasted Marshmallow and Nutella Milkshakes. It was so good! There are no Flip Burgers near my house, so I tried my hand at making one. Though it’s not as good as that original experience, it comes pretty close. They are perfect to make for the remainder of the summer!
Recipe
Ingredients
– 2 Cups Vanilla Ice-Cream
– 1 1/2 Cups Milk
– 5-6 Tablespoons of Nutella
– Marshmallows
Instructions
1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend for about 30 seconds, or until smooth.
2. Top with toasted marshmallows. Serve immediately.
Enjoy!
DIY Inspo: Studded Clutch
08.07.13I love these studded clutches. They’re simple and classic with a bit of edge. I have a black clutch I made a while ago, similar to this DIY make-up bag. I’ve been meaning to add some studs to it for the longest time. It’s funny how DIY projects get pushed back for other projects or recipes. Hopefully this post will inspire me to finally stud that clutch!
DIY Clear Clutch
08.02.13A few months ago I made this post all about the clear clutch. After spotting some vinyl at the fabric store, I finally got around to making my own. I originally tried my hand at making the Christopher Kane Jelly Clutch with dyed glycerin and vegetable oil. It went horribly wrong. The glue didn’t properly hold the “jelly” and the ends would come unstuck. After that DIY fail I decided on a simpler design. All it took was a few studs and a magnetic clasp.
– Vinyl
– Studs with screws
– Magnetic Clasp
– Decorative Button
– Glue
– Scissors
– Ruler
– Multi hole punch
– Pen/marker
Step 1: Draw the template onto your vinyl using the measurements above. You can make it bigger or smaller depending on your preference. Once you have the pattern cut out, fold edge A up to meet edge B.
Chunky Chains
08.01.13I’m so thrilled that the new jewelry must-have is a chunky chain. I’ve been obsessed with chain jewelry for quite some time now, but the size of a chunky chain literally takes it to a whole new level. Chains are so versatile and can be styled in various ways. You can easily go from hip-hop, to punk, to glam. I recently picked up some thick, chunky chain at Hobby Lobby. I’m hoping I can get a bracelet and choker out of it! Stay tuned!!
