I remember doing tie-dye at a summer camp I went to as a kid and it was my favorite thing! I loved playing with the placement of the rubber bands to try and create cool patterns. Of course, it would never turn out how you imagined but you would convince yourself that it still looked cool.
Shibori is a Japanese technique of dying by binding, stitching, twisting, folding and compressing fabric to create intricate designs. AKA, tie-dye for adults. The main dye used in shibori is indigo. I’ve been obsessed with this deep shade of blue for a while now and am trying to figure out ways to incorporate the color into my home. These DIY indigo projects are a good start for inspiration!
