For the longest time, I was on a search for the perfect blanket. I wanted a blanket for the end of my bed that reached the floor on both sides. That proved a little difficult as my bed is up on risers. Being the DIYer that I am, it only made sense that I make my own. I got super lucky one Wednesday afternoon at a Joann’s store. They had just gotten in a luxury fleece but it ran about $17 a yard. Luckily I had a coupon and ended up paying only one third the retail price. That was a good day. I may or may not have texted all my friends to tell them about the amazing deal I got. For some reason, they were not as excited as I was. Then again, they didn’t know how soft and thick this fleece is! On that note, I’m gonna go wrap myself in my blanket!
National Popcorn Day Recipes
01.19.16Going to the movies is one of my favorite activities, primarily for the snacks. I order a popcorn every time I go, which is pretty often. I actually had to downgrade from the large to the medium so I wouldn’t go broke eating my weight in popcorn. Baby steps, right? Of course I was thrilled to learn that National Popcorn Day is January 16. While I don’t think I’ll make it to the movies, nothing is stopping me from trying some of these amazing recipes!

Flower Friday: DIY Paper Poppies
01.15.16This DIY Paper Poppies project has been a long time in the making. I’ve been wanting to experiment with paper flowers for a while and finally just sat down and did it. In typical fashion, I chose a fairly simple flower to replicate. The Poppy. Here’s how I did it… Read More →
5 Minute DIY: Alphabet Cork Board
10.19.15Hello, again! I’m back…and hopefully for good this time. If you’re a long time reader of this blog I have to apologize. I haven’t felt very motivated or inspired to blog the last couple of months. I don’t want to make any promises, but I hope my lack of blog posts is a thing of the past. I really do love blogging!
I figured my first post back should be an easy one. I found these cork letters at Michaels and bought them before I even knew what I wanted to do with them. I loved the idea of making a bulletin type cork board using the letters. Minus waiting for the paint to dry, this project took me all of five minutes. I stuck with white for the background color but I think a bright neon would add a fun pop of color to any room!
You’ll need:
- Square Wood Board
- Cork Letters
- Super Glue
- Spray Paint (optional)
If you want your board a specific color, go ahead and spray paint your wood. Let it dry completely. Once the board is dry, arrange the cork letters. I did 5 rows of 5 (sorry P!)
Apply super glue to the back of each letter and attach to the board.
Glue Down all of your letters and let them dry. That’s it! It seriously could not get any easier!!
DIY Donut Clock
06.04.15It’s the best day of the year! The first Friday in June marks National Doughnut Day, aka, the perfect excuse to eat copious amounts of doughnuts. However, if you would prefer to skip the calories and sugar you can still get in on the fun with this DIY Donut Clock. I just hope it doesn’t constantly remind me how much I love to eat doughnuts!!!
