Making my own soap is something I’ve wanted to try for a long time now. I was always hesitant because working with lye sounded scary and labor intensive. Then I learned you can buy soap bases that melt down and you just add whatever oils, colors, and fragrances you want and just pour it into a mold. This was so simple to make and actually fun to do! Plus, you can customize your soap any way you want! Read on for the soap and sugar scrub recipes!
7 DIYS to Try This Weekend
03.10.17My plans for this weekend are the same as every weekend…a whole lot of nothing. I’m so excited to watch season 2 of ‘Love’ on Netflix which I’ll try to space out over the weekend, but will honestly end up watching it in one sitting. I’ve recently got back into working on the blog, so stay tuned for some new projects next week! In the meantime, here are 7 DIYS you can try this weekend.
DIY Inspiration | Chunky Wool Knit Blanket
03.01.17Do you have something you’ve been meaning to try for years? I have literally dozens of things I’ve wanted to do, and arm knitting falls at the very top of the list. I got into crochet and knitting as a kid (yes, I was super cool) but I felt it always took forever to make something and I didn’t have the best attention span. I probably had at least 3 unfinished blankets scattered around my room at any one time. That’s why I was so intrigued by arm knitting using chunky merino wool. You mean I can make an insanely gorgeous blanket in a matter of hours? Yes, please!

10 Valentine’s Day DIYS to Try
02.12.17I can’t believe it’s already February. FEBRUARY! I feel like Christmas was just last week but here we are, already celebrating the holiday of love. Is it just me, or is 2017 flying by already? I was lucky enough to start the year with a trip to San Francisco and I absolutely fell in love with the city. I can’t wait to see where the rest of the year takes me!
I’m not gonna lie…I’m not really into Valentine’s Day. It’s cheesy and lonely if you’re, you know, alone. BUT, I do love chocolate and candy. I also love discounted chocolate and candy the day after Valentine’s Day. If you are into Valentine’s Day, or better yet Galentine’s Day, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite, non-cheesy projects to celebrate the day. Read More →
10 Holiday Cookie Recipes for National Cookie Day
12.02.16Why is it that I only ever seem to think about eating healthy again when there is a special occasion to eat delicious not-so-good for you foods? First Thanksgiving, and now National Cookie Day coming up on December 4th, and soon Christmas! This is why people leave the healthy eating until after the new year.
National Cookie Day is the perfect excuse to start testing out some holiday recipes. I’m partial to the blue tin butter cookies, that after your done eating them, your mom stores her sewing supplies in the bin. (Also, can we talk about how that is a thing? I seriously thought it was only my family until I saw memes about it online.) Though the Pumpkin Chai Snickerdoodles pictured above look worth the effort it takes to bake them. Happy eating!
