These Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies are the perfect combination of sweet and salty. I used this recipe for the cookies and they turned out wonderfully! They were soft, chewy, and delicious! Some helpful tips when baking the cookies: I found it best to chill the dough for at least an hour. Also, when adding the caramel, push them far into the center of the dough to avoid caramel ‘craters’. Finally, don’t skip the sea salt…it really brings out the other flavors!

DIY Double-Wrapped Braided Chain Bracelet
07.03.13Lately, I’ve been all about quick and easy DIYs with a big impact. I’ve seen the braided chain bracelet on other sites, and wanted to add my own spin. Naturally, that resulted in using every bright color of embroidery thread I loved at Hobby Lobby (oh, how I miss you). In the spirit of going big, I chose to leave the chain long so I could wrap it around my wrist twice! *Bonus: It also works as a choker! Inspired by this necklace!
Materials:
– Embroidery Thread (I used a total of 9 different colors)
– 14″ Chain (long enough to wrap around your wrist twice)
– Jump Rings
– Jewelry Fastener
– Tape
– Scissors
1. Cut your thread in 36″ long pieces. (Double the length of the chain and extra for knots.) Separate into two color groups. Tape one end of each group to make it easier to loop through the chain.
2. Knot the opposite ends of the thread. Place the knotted end next to one end of chain.
DIY Spike Hair Ties
07.01.13I had some leftover spikes from this tutorial, so I decided to add a bit of edge to some hair ties. Hopefully this makes them harder to lose!
You will need:
– Gold and Silver Spikes
– Matching Jump Rings
– Hair Ties
– Pliers
1. Start by opening a jump ring and hooking on a spike.
2. Stretch the hair tie so it gets thinner and easier to fit inside the jump ring. Attach the jump ring to the hair tie and close the jump ring.
3. Continue adding spike to your hair tie. I added 12 in total.
4. Repeat with the silver spikes, and you’re done! Bonus: they look cool around your wrist!
Crop Top
06.28.13The Crop Top is usually a look reserved for Coachella, though lately it is popping up on fashionistas all over the world. The trend is not entirely new. Britney has been rocking the crop top look consistently since Baby One More Time. Fortunately, the trend has graduated from full-stomach exposure. Today, the trend is more about showing a little more than a glance of bare midriff. There are many different ways to style a crop top. If you’re feeling a little more conservative, you can layer the look with a long jacket or blazer. If you’re feeling more playful, you can rock a matching crop top and skirt ensemble. My favorite is the crop top and maxi skirt look!
