Back home, I have a white-board calendar that sits on my desk. I like that I see it everyday, and it reminds me to stay productive. Since I came to Chicago, I wanted an easily customizable calendar. I decided to take matters into my own hands and paint my own. Here’s how I did it:
– Watercolor Paint & Paper
– Paint Brushes
– Pencil & Eraser
– White Colored Pencil
– Paint Palette
– Ruler
1. Depending on the size of your paper, create 5 evenly spaced horizontal sections.
2. Create 7 vertical sections to create a grid. Erase the outer lines on the grid.
This is what it should look like!
3. Draw small circles over the top of each row on your grid. Write in the month of the year, making sure everything fits nicely. *Before adding watercolor, I erase the pencil lines until barely visible so they are not too noticeable under the paint.*
4. To create the days of the week, I used a white colored pencil to write the first letter of the day. Go over it multiple times. Fill in the circles with watercolor in the color of your choice.
6. Paint in the month and year.
