In an attempt to spend less time on Instagram, I find myself browsing Pinterest way more than usual. (Isn’t it funny how we trade one vice for another?) During my guilt-filled scrolling, images of metallic kitchens kept popping up over and over again.
What do you think of adding metallic accents in your kitchen? Honestly, I was a little hesitant at first of such a bold decorating move, but after looking through some of these images I’ve come around to the idea.
I particularly love the look of brushed metallic lower cabinets paired with soft pink upper cabinets pictured above. Throw in some green marbled countertops (something I never thought I’d say) and I’m sold.
Two shades of pink serve as a neutral backdrop for this gold shelf in a kitchen designed by Dries Otten. This would be a great way to add metallics to a kitchen in a less bold way than cabinets would be.
Brass cabinets, pink concrete, and crocodile bamboo stone make for a wild combination. The home’s owner, Alex McCabe, wasn’t afraid to mix all three.
This kitchen utilizes a brass backsplash and pairs it with a mauve accent wall in an open-concept space.
In addition to a gold backsplash, a gold shelf provides open shelving to display items in Jenna Lyons’ kitchen. If you can’t decide between two shades, this space shows you can use both.
This kitchen definitely doesn’t hold back with metallic upper and lower cabinets. I’m obsessed with the gold and marble pairing.
A row of shiny metallic cabinets add visual interest to this otherwise minimalistic space designed by Fiona Lynch.
A brass peninsula breaks up an all white kitchen. Note the brass detailing on the cabinets in the back that tie the space together.
Crown molding, open shelving, marbled backsplash, and a brass penisula make up this kitchen designed by Square One Design. There is not one thing I don’t love about this space.
What do you think of metallic kitchens? Would you trade in your painted or wood cabinets for gold? I’m curious to hear what you think!
