Chocolate-Dipped Almond Biscotti

01.03.13

IMG_6069My mom used to buy these big containers of individually wrapped biscotti. The only problem with this is that I would end up with multiple wrappers as evidence as to how many I ate in one sitting. Biscotti are the perfect snack, whether you’re craving something sweet or nutty. I used this recipe which turned out to be super simple, and chances are you’ll have most of the ingredients on hand. I left out the almond extract and the biscotti still turned out amazing. I’ll bet you can’t eat just one!IMG_6000biscottiIMG_6032IMG_6054IMG_6061

Gold Work Lamp

12.28.12

Having studied design in college I accumulated a lot of tools that have proved useful for my crafty side. My work space currently contains T-Squares and cutting boards of various sizes, a quill and black ink from when we studied ink sketching and expensive colored pencils that made my bank account take a hit. But my favorite of all my design school possessions is my work lamp. I wanted to give it new life so I spray painted it gold. I love the way it turned out!

IMG_5963First I taped off any parts of the lamp I didn’t want to paint.

lampThen I spray painted one side at a time.

Polka-Dot Bow Blouse

12.07.12

IMG_5993 IMG_5996Look at what I finished made! I started sewing this top last summer when bow blouses were all the rage. Then school started and it ended up next to my sewing machine for over a year…oops. I have a habit of started intricate projects, getting overly frustrated when I struggle with them and then just giving up. I didn’t want that to happen to this top. I love the fabric and print too much. Plus now I can officially say I have sewn a shirt!
