When we first moved into our house in Virginia, the walls in my room were painted a pastel pink. I loved them until I grew older and felt like they were too babyish. When I got to choose the new color for my room, I stuck with pink, but in a darker more vibrant shade. Though I finally ended up painting my walls white a couple years ago, the thought of a soft pastel color was very appealing. You can paint entire rooms, an accent wall, or a simple shape in a powdery hue. Add some gold or brass accents for a modern touch!
